In this context, Mr. Sufian says, they have taken measures to ensure that tourists can stay safely in hotels or guest houses. They have held meetings with owners and directors. Hotel staff have been instructed to be trained and aware of these issues.

* Special care should  taken in renting rooms to local residents living in urban areas.

** Officers and employees of hotel-motel or guest house should  trained.

* All hotels and restaurants must  registered.

 

 

 

Rape in Cox’s Bazar: 4 arrested including main accused

 

 

RAB has arrested Ashiqul Islam Ashiq, the main accused in a case of organized rape of a female tourist in Cox’s Bazar. He  arrested from Madaripur around 9:30 pm on Sunday. The news  confirmed by Commander Khandaker Al Moin, Director of Law and Media Branch of RAB.

 

 

The woman’s husband filed a case with the Cox’s Bazar Sadar Model Police Station on Thursday night alleging ‘organized rape’. The four accused named in the case are Ashiqul Islam, Mohammad Shafi alias Israfil Huda Joy alias Jaya, Mehedi Hasan Babu and Riaz Uddin Chhotan, manager of Zia Guest Inn Hotel in the middle Baharchhara area of ​​Cox’s Bazar. Meanwhile, hotel manager Riaz is now in remand after his arrest.

An organized gang picked up the woman from Laboni Point in the city, held her husband and children hostage and raped her several times, threatening to kill her. After receiving the news, RAB rescued the woman from a hotel named Zia Guest Inn around 1.30 pm on Wednesday. A rape case filed the next day in this incident.
