RAB raids fines for illegally stockpiling polythene in Tangail, Bangladesh

RAB has imposed a fine of Tk 60,000 for illegally stockpiling polythene. On Monday (February 2) at around 2 pm, RAB-12 launched an operation in Madhupur upazila of Tangail on the basis of secret information.

It was led by RAB-12, CPC-3, Tangail‘s Acting Company Commander Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Ershadur Rahman and Magistrate Rozlin Shahid Chowdhury Executive Magistrate.

According to RAB, a mobile court operation was conducted in Madhupur upazila of Tangail for illegally keeping polythene stocks polluting the environment.

Section 4 (b) of the Environmental Protection Act 1995 (No. 2003) fined Shyamal, 45, son of Nagmara Hiralal Debnath of the upazila, Tk 50,000 and Manik Chandra Shil, 45, son of Kandu Chandra Shil of Andinapara village, Rs 30,000.
