The ban could be extended further. ”Google said Trump’s channel violated YouTube’s policy by inciting violence at the Capitol building. In a statement, Google said, “After verification and due to concerns about the possibility of violence, we have blocked the opportunity to upload new content to Donald Trump’s channel.” Concerns about violence could also block the opportunity to comment indefinitely on President Trump’s channel. We have taken similar action against some other channels due to security concerns in the comments section. Google took the step after several civil rights groups threatened to block ads on YouTube. Lawyer Jim Steer took a similar initiative against Facebook last year. He called on Google to take further action against Trump’s channel, saying the channel should be taken offline.
